Costa Arènte

costa arente

In the enchanting landscape of Valpantena, “La Costa” rises, a name used by the residents of Grezzana and Romagnano to refer to the estate. Spread over a total area of 35 hectares, of which 17 are dedicated to vineyards, while the rest is reserved for woodlands and olive groves. Positioned at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level, in the vicinity of the city of Verona, Valpantena is the backdrop for Costa Arente, a place where winemaking tradition is constantly renewed. Here, grape harvesting and selection are done manually, with particular attention to land care.

The winemaking process utilizes natural elements such as wind and climate, in addition to careful control of temperature and humidity. The production process is characterized by a closed-loop approach, covering all stages from harvesting to bottling, ensuring a constant commitment to quality rather than quantity.

The range of wines offered by Costa Arente includes Amarone DOC della Valpolicella, Ripasso DOC della Valpolicella, Valpolicella DOC Valpantena, Recioto (often considered the precursor to Amarone), and a selection of Lugana wines, capturing the many nuances of this territory.

In this magical setting, you can experience various activities that allow you to discover the Valpantena territory and the history of Costa Arente. You will visit the estate, stroll through the vineyards, and conclude the experience with a tasting of their wines.

Cantina del Castello

cantina del castello

Cantina del Castello is a winery located in the ancient medieval village of Soave. This small-sized winery has deep roots in the history of the region it comes from. The wines produced here reflect the characteristics of the land and maintain a tradition that has evolved from the 1960s to the present day.

The history of the palace that houses the cellar dates back to the 13th century, giving the place a fascinating aura. In the underground of the palace, now used for tastings, there is an ancient tunnel that once led to the Castle of Soave, from which the name “Cantina del Castello” derives.

On the hills of Soave Classico, the roots of the main grape varieties of the area, Garganega and Trebbiano, intertwine with volcanic soil. From pruning to harvesting, a long and silent collaboration between experience and human touch is established. The vineyard, with about twelve hectares on the hills of the classic area, is carefully tended through manual practices.

Cantina del Castello‘s production is based on grape selections from Monte Pressoni, giving life to the Soave Classico Pressoni. This wine, deeply rooted in Soave tradition, stands out for its character and pleasantness from the early months but is also known for its bottle aging capacity, even for several years.

At Cantina del Castello, you can book a journey through flavors and fully immerse yourself in the Veronese experience by tasting typical wines of the region, including the two areas of Valpolicella and Soave.

Alternatively, you can choose a path to discover the various expressions of the native Garganega grape, with which Soave DOC is produced.

Farina Wines

Farina Wines

Farina Wines, located in a picturesque hillside area just outside Verona, in the heart of the renowned Valpolicella region, is housed in an ancient patriarchal residence from the 1500s with a heraldic coat of arms at the center of the entrance arch: the family’s original home.

The winery has its roots in the early 1900s when the ancestors of the Farina family showed a great passion for the vine, fine wine, and a strong desire to promote and share the winemaking potential of their homeland. Currently, the estate is managed by cousins Claudio and Elena.

The estate comprises ten hectares of vineyards in the surrounding areas, as well as approximately 35 hectares of supplier lands they have been collaborating with for a long time. Native varieties are cultivated to respect the tradition and the characteristics of the territory.

A stone staircase leads to an ancient cellar, dug into the earth, with a constant temperature between 12 and 15°C. Here, massive oak barrels retain the look of the past and are used for aging precious wines such as Recioto, Amarone, and Valpolicella Classico Superiore, considered jewels of Valpolicella Classica.

The company combines its long experience with meticulous selection of native varieties, careful handling during the withering phases, and the traditional Ripasso technique. These elements are complemented by ongoing experimentation and the adoption of technological innovations in processing, storage, packaging, and bottle aging.

At Farina Wines, in addition to classic tours with tastings, you have the opportunity to experience something unique: a guided tour of the cellar and vineyards with a premium tasting enriched by a guided visit to the art exhibition featuring works by the German artist Anselm Kiefer and the Argentine artist Mariano Sardòn, curated by the Artericambi gallery in Verona.
