The Langhe: where are they?
Let’s start with the basics: where are the Langhe in Piedmont?
Located across the provinces of Cuneo and Asti, the Langhe are easy to reach. Just around two hours from the province of Milan and one hour from Turin, you’ll find yourself surrounded by peace and beauty.
The Langhe are a true Piedmontese gem, a land covered in vineyards and charming villages, all surrounded by a magical atmosphere.

1. Azienda Agricola Diego Morra and the Bar to Bar itinerary
Just 15 minutes from Alba, you can easily reach Verduno (CN), a small village in the heart of the Langhe. Here you can visit Azienda Agricola Diego Morra, located in the middle of one of the most prestigious Cru areas of Barolo: Monvigliero.
Meeting the winery’s owners is the perfect opportunity to discover the story behind their wines and family. Francesca, in particular, will guide you through the different tasting experiences. We recommend trying the Nebbiolo Nuances experience, which includes a complete tour of the winery, its winemaking and ageing areas, followed by a tasting of 6 of their most important Nebbiolo-based wines.
Another particularly popular experience is Barolo al Plurale, where Francesca will take you on a journey through 6 Barolo wines from different vintages.
In addition to traditional tastings, Diego Morra also hosts a variety of events throughout the year.
While you’re in the area, we also recommend following the Bar to Bar itinerary, which connects the Barbaresco and Barolo areas over a total distance of 124 km divided into 7 stages. For example, the Alba–Verduno section is 15.5 km long.

2. La Morra and the Barolo Chapel
Speaking of places to visit in the Langhe, very close to Verduno you’ll find La Morra (CN), a small town with fewer than 3,000 inhabitants. Here you’ll find Borgogno Rivata, a young and modern winery with an industrial-style design that combines elements such as iron, concrete and wood throughout its spaces.
The hills of this area are home to some exceptional grape varieties. Among them, the most renowned is Nebbiolo, used to produce Barolo and Nebbiolo d’Alba. For this reason, we recommend their Winery Experience – The Special Edition.
The tasting begins with Langhe Arneis, with its fruity notes and woody aromas, followed by Barbera d’Alba Superiore, with its ripe blackberry aromas. Next comes the delicate yet complex Langhe Nebbiolo Bricot, followed by Verduno Pelaverga, one of Italy’s smallest DOC appellations. Finally, Barolo, aged for 5 years, brings the experience to a close.

It’s called the Barolo Chapel, a small, colourful jewel set in the Piedmontese countryside and surrounded by vineyards. Admission is free, and we definitely recommend stopping by. It’s the perfect spot for breathtaking photos.

3. Wineries in the Langhe: Castello di Perno
Staying around La Morra, we recommend visiting Monforte d’Alba (CN), where you’ll find Castello di Perno, a winery with a classic character and a contemporary vision, where elegance is the ultimate expression of its wines.
For this reason, we recommend a truly exclusive experience: Arte & Vino. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the winery and walk through the vineyards of Castelletto. The visit then continues at the renowned Castello di Perno, a historic residence once belonging to the celebrated Turin publisher Giulio Einaudi and now home to the Cultural Association of Contemporary Arts.

4. Cascina Pugnane: Wine Resort and the Barolo Wine Road
Did you know that in Castiglione Falletto (CN) you can find a wine resort where you can relax between a Nebbiolo and Barolo tasting?
It’s called Cascina Pugnane and you can choose between enjoying a Day of Food & Wellness or immersing yourself in the incredible Barolo Wine Experience.
For the Day of Food & Wellness, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of wine before taking a walk through the Langhe vineyards and visiting the winery. Depending on your booking time, you can choose between lunch or an aperitivo featuring excellent local products, accompanied by a tasting of the winery’s fine wines. You’ll then have access to the wellness area, including a sauna, Turkish bath and outdoor whirlpool overlooking Barolo.

6. G.D. VAJRA: Organic Wines Since 1971
Let’s head to the heart of the Langhe: Barolo, in the province of Cuneo, where you’ll find G.D. Vajra, where organic wines have been produced since 1971. Today, the winery is run by the family’s second generation and is considered one of the most creative wineries in Barolo.
At Vajra, you can enjoy a winery experience with wine tasting featuring 4 wines, including a Barolo DOCG. To ensure the best possible experience, the tasting is not accompanied by any food.
In the Barolo area, in addition to the activities mentioned above, you can also visit the Corkscrew Museum. The exhibition features 500 antique corkscrews from all over the world, dating back to the second half of the 17th century.
